Fred Wilson Butler, 61, of Birdsboro, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 5, 2024. He was the husband of Lisa (Kuhn) Butler for 36 years. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of Margaret (Mattson) Wyatt of Parkesburg, PA, and the late Wilson Butler.
Fred was a proud US Army Veteran of 28 years, serving the PA Army National Guard. He spent 6 years on active duty at Fort Dix, NJ as a Unit First Sergeant and as Assistant Inspector General before his retirement in 2009. He also ran his own business restoring furniture and antiques to their former glory. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed many wonderful vacations camping in NJ, OCMD and Myrtle Beach, SC. In his downtime, you could always find him outside working in the yard. Fred was a jokester, full of life and always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be dearly missed by his wife, children, grandbabies, mother and siblings, as well as all he met and knew over the years.
Besides his wife, Lisa, he is survived by his children, Travis (Mia) Butler of Phoenixville, PA, and Abigail (John) Troy of Gilbertsville, PA, five grandchildren (Stella, Peter, Madeline, Joanna & Georgia), his mother Margaret and siblings, Tina Steffe and Joseph Butler, both of Parkesburg.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. until service time. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Cemetery in Parkesburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. To make a donation please click HERE.
