Fred Martin Mallalieu, 78, of Cochranville, passed away on Saturday, October 12th, 2019 under the care of Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Linda Benson Mallalieu, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.
Born in Coatesville, Fred was the son of the late Thelma Martin Mallalieu and Fred Mallalieu. Fred was a 1959 graduate of Scott High School. A resident of Cochranville since 1966, Fred worked as a lineman and later as a detailer for Philadelphia Electric Company for 37 years.
Fred was an active member of Christiana United Methodist Church, serving as the Men's Sunday School teacher and participating in the Emmaus Men's Retreats.
He was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing.
Fred is survived, in addition to his wife, by his two daughters: Kimberly Devine, wife of David, of Rising Sun, MD, and Kelly Devonshire, wife of Howard, of Ellendale, DE; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Hostetter.
He was predeceased by two sisters and one brother.
The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 19th, 2019 at 11 AM at Christiana Methodist United Church, 14 S Bridge St, Christiana, PA 17509 with a visitation from 10 until 11 AM. Interment will follow at Cochranville Methodist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fred's memory to the Christiana United Methodist Church at the above address.
