Fred Dale Varnes

Fred Dale Varnes, 69, of Glenmoore, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at his home.

Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Kathryn (Miller) and Arthur Varnes.

Fred was a 1963 graduate of the Octorara High School.  He was employed at Aer-Core of Pottstown as an Equipment Operator.

He served honorably in the US Army.

Fred was a life member of the American Motorcycle Association, and was an avid motorcycle racing enthusiast.

He is survived by his siblings, Peg Nelson of Virginia, Bill Varnes, husband of Doris, of New Jersey, Faye Proudfoot, wife of Skip, of Honey Brook, Jim Varnes, husband of Dolly, of Pottstown, Eddie Varnes of Birdsboro, Kay Reynolds of Coatesville, Harry of Nottingham, David of Cochranville, and Denny, husband of Nancy, of Parkesburg.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Judith Varnes, Helen Varnes and Lois May Mendenhall, who passed away on the very same day as Fred.

The memorial service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 8 PM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg with visitation from 6 until 8 PM.  Interment will be held at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fred's memory to the charity of your choice.
