Frank H. Root

Frank H. Root, 88, of Westwood, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at his home in Westwood. He was the widower of the late Regina Szczepura Root, who passed away in 1997.

Born in Valley Twp., he was the son of the late George W. and Rena Murray Root. An area resident his entire life, he was a 1938 graduate of the Coatesville High School. He was employed at the former Lukens Steel Co. as a Boiler Tender for 43 years, retiring in 1983. Frank was a member of the Westwood and Brandywine Fire Companies, as well as the Ingleside Golf Course and the Moose. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Coatesville.

He is survived by two children: Frank J. Root, husband of Pamel, of East Fallowfield and Deborah Myers, wife of Drew, of Ephrata; and two grandchildren, Trevor Root and Regina Myers.

The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 1 PM at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 107 South 17th Ave., Coatesville, PA 19320. A reception will be held after the Service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd at the above address.
