Frances Mcgowan Battle

Frances McGowan Battle, age 79, passed away on July 15, 2020 in her home in West Bradford surrounded by loved ones after a long struggle with cancer. Her parents were William and Julia McGowan of Chester, PA. She got her LPN nursing degree from Our Lady of Victory, NY. She was married to John Joseph Battle (deceased) and survived by her children Barbara Battle Usavage (married to Chris Usavage, children Julia, Kevin, Caitlin, and Matthew), John Battle, Glenn Battle, Jan Battle (married to Sean Kelley, children Rowan and Reece), and Elizabeth Hubschmidt (married to Blake Hubschmidt, children Ryan and Daren). She was a nurse at Fair Acres Geriatric Center, Delaware County for 20 yrs. Fran was a generous person who volunteered throughout her life (foster care parent, candy striper, library, hospice, big sister to elderly w/special needs). She loved reading, gardening, quilting, NPR, British shows, all things Irish, swim class w/ her friends, travel, and spending time with her grandchildren. Due to the pandemic and the fact she hated being the center of attention, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers please donate to your local food bank or homeless shelter and vote for Biden.
