Emily S. Burns

Emily S. Burns, formerly of Coatesville, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 15, 2019 at the Advent Health Care Center in Tavares, Florida. Emily was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, Harry T. Burns. Born Emily Shields Conner on May 10,1928, she was the daughter of Emily & Norwood Conner.

As a child Emily attended Unionville schools. She was employed by Bell Telephone as an operator for many years. Emily enjoyed being a homemaker, was a devoted mother & grandmother and was well-known for her "famous" butter cookies.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Veit & husband Gary,  Nancy Daylor & husband Charles Jr, her grandson Charles B. Daylor & wife Lisa, 2 great-grandsons, 2 sisters Mildred Dunleavy & Donna Gill and many nieces & nephews. She was also preceded in death by siblings: Norwood Conner, Richard Conner, Betty Anderson, John Conner, Marvin Conner, Mildred Rissel, Jeanne Moore & William Acker.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Cemetery, Parkesburg, PA. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkesburg United Methodist Church, 411 Main Street, Parkesburg PA 19365.
