Elizabeth Jane Jacklitch, 81, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020, at the Zerbe Retirement Community in Narvon, Pa. She was a longtime language teacher at Scott Intermediate High in Coatesville and a member of Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church in Parkesburg.
She was the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Bowman of Philadelphia.
Elizabeth is survived by two sons, Calvin Beam of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Gavin Beam of Parkesburg, a granddaughter, Mandee Beam of Modena, and a sister, Lois Bowman of Harleysville, Pa.
She graduated from Girls High in Philadelphia and Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pa. She traveled throughout Spain to gain greater understanding of the language and the culture in order to become a better teacher. A passionate reader and writer, she was a freelance columnist for several local newspapers.
Elizabeth loved her family, her church congregation, her students, and her dogs.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Services have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg.
