Elinor K. Pierce

March 25, 1920 — August 14, 2018

Elinor K. Pierce, 98, of Atglen, passed away at Harrison Senior Living in Christiana on Tuesday, August 14, 2018. She was the wife of the late Earle Pierce. Born in the village of Embreeville, Chester County, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Mayme Clouse Weaver.

Elinor was an area resident all her life and a 1938 graduate of the former Parkesburg High School. She was employed by the Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville from 1952 to 1982 in the Safety Department.

She was a member of the Parkesburg United Methodist Church for 46 years and more recently she was a member of the St. John's United Methodist Church of Paradise, PA, past President of the Lukens Antique Club, member of the Lukens Veterans Guild, the Theodore Burr Covered Bridge Society of PA, Ephrata Recreation Center, the AARP and she was a volunteer for many years at the Coatesville VA Hospital with the American Legion Post #431 Auxiliary.

An avid photographer, Elinor enjoyed showing slides of Covered Bridges to many local organizations. Traveling, for her was always a pleasure and she got to visit 27 Foreign Countries including Africa, Europe, Asia, the Orient, Alaska, South America, Hawaii, the West Indies and the Caribbean Islands.

She is survived by one stepson John Pierce and wife Linda of Exton, PA and three nieces Sharon Nauroth and husband Joseph of Atglen, Carol Cummiskey of Parkesburg and Donna Sturgill and husband Richard of Atglen.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg, PA.  Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com
