Eleanor E. Ratcliff

Eleanor E. Ratcliff, 89, of Parkesburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Harrison Senior Living in Christiana where she resided for the past year. She was the widow of the late Esteel M. Ratcliff who died in 1972. Born in East Brandywine, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Sarah Keimer Trumbower.

An area resident her whole life, she was formerly employed by Green Giant and Penquin Industries. Eleanor was a life member of Parkesburg Fire Co. and Ladies Auxiliary and she attended the Parkesburg Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by three children; Eleanor E. Martin of Brandymoore, Esteel M. Ratcliff, Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Harrisburg and Eugene A. Ratcliff and wife Edna of Parkesburg, nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two sisters; Kathleen E. Heidelbaugh of Texas and Sarah J. Trumbower of Parkesburg. She was preceded in death by a daughter Edna Mae Ratcliff and three siblings; Grace Heidelbaugh, Florence Ames and Percy Trumbower.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 7, 2009 at 11:00am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at Faggs Manor Presbyterian Cemetery. Viewing from 10 am to the time of the service.
