Edward P. Pluck, Jr., 55, of Parkesburg, passed away at the Brandywine Hospital on Saturday, April 2, 2011. He was the husband of Cheryl Gibson Pluck with whom he shared 14 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of Edward P. and Mary Ross Pluck, Sr. of Coatesville.
Ed was an area resident all his life and he had served honorably in the US Marine Corp. He was employed by IMS of Coatesville as a track operator.
He was a member of the Parkesburg VFW Post #4480, the Christiana American Legion, the Top Dead Center Car Club of Lionville, A.B.A.T.E. of PA, the Eastern Lancaster Co. Rod and Gun Club, the West End Fire Company of Coatesville, and the Pomeroy Volunteer Fire Company. He also enjoyed motorcycle riding and going to auto shows.
Ed is survived, in addition to his wife and parents, by three children; Jeffrey Messner of Ephrata, Chris Pluck and wife Kristee of Parkesburg and Cody Pluck at home, three step children; Jamie Davis and Aaron Kempest both of Coatesville and Andrew Kempest of Carlisle, four grandchildren and three brothers Davis Pluck and Jeffrey Pluck both of Parkesburg, and Kelly Pluck of Coatesville. He was preceded in death by two children; Brian E. Pluck and Shelby Pluck.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 11:00 am from the Hephzibah Baptist Church, 2237 Strasburg Road, East Fallowfield, PA. Interment will be private. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing at the Church from 9:00 am to 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ed's memory to the Cody Pluck Education Fund, in care of the Citadel Bank, 4051 W. Lincoln Hwy., Parkesburg, PA 19365.
