Edith I. Marisuto

February 19, 1926 — April 17, 2015

Edith I. Marisuto, 89, of Coatesville, passed away at her home on Friday, April 17, 2015.

Born in Lenover, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Carmela (Laudadio) and Dominic Madonna.

She was a seamstress for approximately 30 years.  Retired in 1983 from Amalgamated Clothing and Pincus Brothers in Philadelphia.

Edith is survived by her two daughters: Anna Marie (Marisuto) Viscusi of Coatesville and Joanne (Marisuto) Ehinger, wife of Robert, of Downingtown; four grandchildren and one brother, Albert Madonna, Columbia, KY.

For many years, Edith enjoyed sewing clothes for family (and doll clothes too), curtains, crocheting afghans, crewel, and embroidery.  Unfortunately, she developed severe RA in her hands and macular degeneration.  But then puzzles and playing cards with her grandchildren became a highlight.  She won, of course!

She spent time with each one of them and enjoyed their accomplishments and talents. "Grammy" was so proud of her grandchildren!  While under Hospice care, she made plastic canvas "Cross-In-The-Pocket" trinkets.  They were distributed at Freedom Village and the Harrison House to other terminally ill patients.  Her hurting hands were always helping hands!

Family and friends are invited for Visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday May 2nd.  Followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am to be held at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St, Parkesburg, PA 19320.
