Dorothy E. Washington

Dorothy E. Washington, 71, of Roy, New Mexico, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023, under the care of Coal Miners Hospital in Raton, New Mexico.

Dorothy was born June 16, 1952, in Atglen, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Theodore R. Mason and Blanche E. Mason (Miller).

Lovingly known as “Ellen”, she graduated from Octorara High School in 1971. Ellen worked many jobs before starting a career at the Veteran’s Hospital in Coatesville, Pennsylvania as a Nurses Aide. A career that lasted for over 30 years.

Ellen had a love for sports and was a huge fan of all Philadelphia teams. She enjoyed watching old western TV shows and hallmark movies, doing puzzles and paintings by numbers. She was a collector of crystal figurines. Ellen loved spending time with her family and friends and would always make her Hawaiian wedding cake for family functions.

Ellen is survived by her sisters Patricia Mason of Roy, New Mexico, Carol Mathis of Atglen, Pennsylvania, Joan Dunham of Oxford, Pennsylvania and Denise Williams of Sicklerville, New Jersey. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ellen is preceded in death by her parents Theodore R. Mason and Blanche E. Mason, her sons Andre’ and James, brothers Richard and Theodore Mason, sisters Mary Mason Burns and Margaret Mason.

Ellen will be greatly missed who loved and adored her.

Graveside services will be held on November 10, 2023. interment will be at Abdul-Qabid (Private Cemetery).
