Donald R. Coleman, 83, of East Fallowfield, passed away on November 8, 2011 at the VA Hospital from complications of a stroke. He was the beloved husband of Lois (Fredd) Coleman, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Robert Coleman and Margaret Dancer.
He was a 1946 graduate of Chester High School.
A veteran of the Korean war, he was a paratrooper with the 187th Paratroop Infantry Regiment.
He drove truck for many years, but his first love was farming. He also built and flew RC airplanes.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by one son, Richard Coleman, four daughters, Terry Rathbun, Debra Wooden, Virginia Mejias, Lynda Ninos, 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 14th, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Friendship Methodist Cemetery of Gum Tree. The viewing will be held from 10 until 11 AM.
