Donald J. "Doc" Sokso

Donald J. "Doc" Sokso, 74, of Honey Brook, PA, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at the Reading Hospital in Reading, PA. He was the beloved husband of Carol Lea Vandegriff Sokso with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late George Sokso and Elizabeth Townsend Sokso.

Donald was an area resident all his life. He was employed by the former Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville in the electric furnace as a Shop Stewart, retiring in 1997.

He and his wife attended the Wagontown Union Chapel.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by four daughters; Carol Denise Simmers and husband Gary of Narvon, PA, Donna Jean Sokso of Honey Brook, Deborah Margaret Kaye Trego and husband Donald of Wagontown, PA and Dawn E. Super and husband Todd of Honey Brook, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two siblings; Kenneth Sokso of Gap, PA and Joan Kook of Glenmoore, PA. He was preceded in death by four siblings; Richard, Ronald, Michael and Barbara Sokso.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Wagontown Union Chapel, 469 W Kings Highway, Coatesville, PA 19320 with visitation from 10:00 am to the time of the service.
