Dianne "Susie" Louise Rice, 71, of Pomeroy, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the Paoli Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of James William Rice with whom she shared 22 years of marriage. Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Reeder and June Warden Reeder.
Dianne was an area resident all her life and a 1966 graduate of the Henderson High School in West Chester. After high school she continued her education and became a LPN. She was employed at the Coatesville VA Medical Center for 33 years until her retirement in 2011.
She is survived by her son Robin Harp, his wife Tracy and their two children - Irelyn and Davi - of Trout Run, PA, her daughter Tara Harp-Curran, her husband John and their daughter - Fiona - of Orlando, Florida, and her daughter Amber Harp, her fiancé Brian, and their two children - Teaghan and Piper - of East Fallowfield, PA. Dianne also had three loving stepdaughters: Melissa Jones (Mark) of Geigertown, PA, Michelle Laster (Michael) of Bensalem, PA, and Marisa Gehris (Steve) of East Fallowfield, PA, and 7 additional grandchildren, as well as 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Dennis Reeder.
Dianne was a dedicated mother and wife first and foremost. She treasured her husband, children, and grandchildren, embracing every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Mom-Mom. She was everyone's favorite "Fireball," had a spirited personality and always made people around her smile with her wit, comments, and sense of humor. She made a lasting impression on those whose paths she crossed. Dianne was also an avid animal lover, loving and caring for her many dogs with James throughout the years.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Parkesburg United Methodist Church, 411 Main St, Parkesburg, PA 19365 with visitation at the church from 9:30 AM until service time.
