David F. Underwood Jr., 49, of Coatesville, PA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 27, 2025, in Philadelphia, PA. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late David F. Sr. and Elizabeth Hutzler Underwood.

David was an area resident all his life. He attended the Coatesville Schools and worked as a manager at local convenience stores.

David is a believer of Christ. He worshiped at Christ's Chapel Full Gospel Church in Parkesburg, PA. He was affiliated with the church since childhood. He always spoke of how our family was strong in faith, love and family unity! That our family is strong in faith no matter what! How our family roots are have been with our church going back to our great grandmother. Now in generation six! David top concern was salvation through Christ's blood for his family and everyone.

Since 2021 was a monthly contributor to International fellowship of Christians and Jews and the Christian Appalachian Project. He these this scriptures to heart. "I will bless those who bless Israel" Gen. 12:3. "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. Matthew 25:40.

David loved sports. Top team being the Philadelphia Eagles! Win or loose they were his team. He loved Reggie White and met, speak, took pictures and got his signature in Reggie's book Minister of Defense. These were his prize pieces of his Eagles collection He was so excited they made the Superbowl and won! He enjoyed the Philadelphia Phillies and went to games also. He enjoyed WWE, Dogs, Harley Davidson's, Fishing and crabbing. David didn't enjoy untangling the lines. That part was saved for his brother in law!

David also enjoyed supporting local girls and boy scouts troops. It was part of his upbringing and youth.

He enjoyed coaching his children in baseball as a young father and watching his grandson play sports in later years. He kept pictures of all his children and family everywhere around him including his Bible. They were his treasures! Not gold or jewelry just family.

He helped many friends and family with a place to stay and food to eat. As well as never walked past a homeless person without giving them food or money.

He loved his family very deeply and wanted them near every day of his life! He would never give up the chance to spoil his children, grandchildren and family.

David was a organ donor for over twenty years. We all respect and supported his choice. His organs were donated to the Gift of Life program . His liver and both kidneys found matches!
