David Peter Springer

David Peter Springer, 73, of West Brandywine Township passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Born in West Chester he was the son of the late Vincent J. Springer and Marie A. (Schroeder) Springer. He was the beloved husband of Cynthia Springer with whom he shared 43 years of marriage.

An area resident most of his life David was a 1966 graduate of Bishop Shanahan High School. David went on to become an entrepreneur, owning and operating several businesses. He built Springer Corporate Center Industrial Park in West Chester as well as two child-care centers (Curiosity Corner) that Cindy ran and operated.

David was industrious and hand built his home in West Brandywine Township where he resided until his passing. Notable additions to his home included a one-of-a-kind tree house, swing set, a bridge over a stream in their yard, a seesaw, and a rock wall that he crafted for his beloved grandchildren. David enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his grandchildren, playing pinochle with family, and spending time with Cindy on Sanibel Island.

He held a variety of offices during his life, including being the treasurer of the booster club for Coatesville High School, when his sons wrestled and president of his Condo Association in Sanibel Florida.

He is survived in addition to his wife by four children: David Peter Springer Jr. of Eugene, Oregon, Peter David Springer and wife Megan of Macungie, PA, Joshua Elam Springer of Coatesville, and Ian Thomas Springer and wife Vignette of Virginia Beach. He also is survived by 9 grandchildren; Kyra, Grace, Talan, Joshua, Chase, Colin, Elijah, Anastacia, and Wilhelm plus a host of nieces and nephews, and five siblings: Joseph Springer (Joanne) of West Chester, Tom Springer, Philip Springer (Sandy) of West Chester, Julie Springer of Coatesville, Tim Springer of Coatesville, and sister-in-law Judy Springer of Chadds Ford. He is predeceased by his brother, Vincent M. Springer (Mary).

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from Parkesburg United Methodist Church, 411 Main St, Parkesburg, PA 19365. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation period taking place from 9:30 AM until the start of the service. A live stream of the service can be viewed by clicking here.
