David Lawrence Tennant, Sr., 77, of Elverson, passed away on Monday, April 20th, 2020 at his son's home. He was the beloved husband of Mary E. (Mowrey) Tennant, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.
Born in Coatesville, David was the son of the late Ruth Emma Conway Tennant and William H. Tennant Sr. He was a Parkesburg area resident for 35 years, and a 1960 graduate of Octorara High School. David also lived in Florida and Morgantown throughout his life.
He served honorably with the US Army. He was a life member, Past Commander and trustee of the Parkesburg VFW Post #4480. He was a member of the Col. Jacob Morgan American Legion in Elverson. David was a Past Master at both Keystone Lodge and Skerrett Lodge Masonic Lodge.
David was an Electrician with Baldwin Electricity, retiring 12 years ago.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his children: David L. Tennant, Jr., husband of Shari, of Cornelius, N.C., Kelly Ann Abrams, wife of Rob, of Gorham, Maine, and Michael J. Tennant, husband of Jennifer, of Morgantown, PA; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and siblings, William Tennant of Atglen, Ruth Ann Daller of Collegeville, Helen Cotter of Kent, N.Y., Nancy O'Connell of Jacksonville, Or., Jeffrey Tennant of Kansas City, Missouri, and Mary Graceffa, of Medford, OR.
He was predeceased by siblings, Donald F. Tennant and Timothy R. Tennant.
David's Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 2:00PM at the Parkesburg VFW Post #4480, 406 W. 4th Ave. Parkesburg, PA 19365.
