D. Nevin Smoker

D. Nevin Smoker, 87, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 23, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Patricia L. Roberts Smoker with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Born in Atglen on the family farm, he was the son of the late Samuel B. Smoker and Salome Stoltzfus Smoker.

Nevin was an area resident all his life. He was employed, for over 30 years, by LG Industries of Wagontown, PA as a machinist.

Nevin was an avid Philadelphia Sports fan. He also enjoyed hunting, trips to the mountains, gardening and all things John Deere; however, most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and making everyone laugh with his dad jokes.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by three children; Mark L. Smoker and wife Heather of Coatesville, Jackie Dibert and husband Keith of Ocala, Florida and Chad M. Smoker of Coatesville, eight grandchildren; Brandan Smoker, Lauren Smoker Ingram, Carissa Dibert, Owen Smoker, Gage Smoker, Jaden Smoker, Dylan Smoker, Chase Smoker, and two siblings; Reba Hershey of Lancaster and Daniel Smoker of Atglen. He was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
