Charles E. Wellock, 92, of Coatesville, PA, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, in Exton, PA. He was the husband of the late Patricia A. Wellock who passed away in 2015. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William and Marie Griesser Wellock.
Charles graduated from St. Thomas More High School in 1950 and then proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed by Malvern Prep School. He also volunteer as a driver for Blain Ambulance and president of blain lions club. In his earlier years he was a Boy and Girl scout leader, electrician and volunteer for Drexel hill players. Recent years he was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Coatesville.
He is survived by his children, Patty (Joe) Reaney, Charlie (Marian) Wellock, and Rob Wellock, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Wellock in 2017.
He was a man of all trades. All you had to do was call him, and he was on his way no questions asked. One of the things he loved was playing Santa when he became a grandfather and continued doing it for over 30 years. It took him 3 weeks to make all his stops. Some of them were second generation of kids he went to. A man who was loved by everyone.
He will be missed by all who new him.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 2835 Manor Rd., West Brandywine, PA, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Disabled Veterans.
