Charles T. Cooper, Jr.

Charles T. Cooper, Jr., 72, of Parkesburg, passed away on Saturday June 13, 2009 at the Brandywine Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Joanne Brown Cooper with whom he shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Charles T. and Arnetta Watson Cooper.

Charles attended Parkesburg High School. He was retired from the Coatesville VA Hospital where he was employed for 38 years. He also worked at Embreeville State Hospital for 10 years and he was employed by Harrison House in Coatesville as a night security worker. Charles was a member of the Bethany AME Church of Parkesburg.

He is surivied, in addition to his wife, by a son Charles T. Cooper, III and wife Lisa, daughter Arnetta Cooper Flowers and husband Gilbert, both of Parkesburg, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, grandson Brandon M. Cooper whom they raised as their own and dear cousins Beverly Blake of Coatesville and Dorothy and Bob Scott of Philadelphia. He was preceded in death by a daughter Charlene J. Cooper.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 19, 2009 at 1:00pm from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg with the viewing from 12:00 noon to the time of the service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
