Charles R. McLaughlin, 72, of Cochranville, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Sana Sharrer McLaughlin with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Rufus and Anne V. Schulmeister McLaughlin.
Charlie was an area resident all his life. He was employed by Octorara Area Schools with the maintenance department retiring in 2012.
He was a life member of the Pomeroy Fire Company, a member of the Oxford Senior Center and a member of the Brandywine Goddard Masonic Lodge. He was also a Nascar fan and he particularly was a Jeff Gordan fan.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two daughters; Karen Lee Griffith and husband Randy of Pomeroy and Kendra Lee Swinehart and spouse Harold Coldiron of Cochranville, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one sister Arlene Dalmas and husband George of Parkesburg and one twin brother Fred Mclaughlin of Gap, PA. He was preceded in death by one son Charles Robert McLaughlin, one grandson Jeffrey D. Hanna, two sisters, Lucy McLaughlin and Lorelda Lowery and three brothers; Clyde, Robert and George McLaughlin.
