Charles R. Johnson, 88, of Ephrata, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Pauline Johnson, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage.
Born in Lancaster, he was son of the late Charles R. and Myrtle (Wynn) Johnson. He was a graduate of the Parkesburg High School. He served honorable in the US Army during W.W.II.
He was a Gas Utilization Supervisor with Philadelphia Electric for 36 years and had previously worked for Moore's Plumbing in Coatesville for three years.
Charles was a member of the Olivet United Methodist Church of Coatesville for 62 years, serving as a trustee, usher, and co-chairman of the Property Committee.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by his children: Charles Robert Johnson, husband of Theresa, of Maryville, TN, Steven Johnson, husband of Donna, of Parkesburg, and Kathleen Johnson of Lititz; grandchildren, Christopher Johnson and Stefanie Tatum; and one great grandson, Cole.
He was predeceased by his sister, Gertrude Smith.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 8th, 2013 at 11 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkeburg, followed by interment in the Upper Octorara Cemetery of Parkesburg. The viewing will be held from 10 until 11 AM.
