Charles A. Pluck

Charles A. Pluck, 81, of Spring, TX, formerly of Westwood and Parkesburg, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Kay Pluck, with whom he shared 38 years of marriage.

Born in Westwood, he was the son of Mary Martz and Elmer Pluck Sr. He served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from the former Lukens Steel Co., working as an Customer Service Manager. He was active with the Coatesville Area School Board, serving as a Director and was the Township Supervisor for Sadsburyville. He was a member of the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church.

He enjoyed bowling and golfing. He coached both Little League Basketball and Baseball in Westwood.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two daughters, Sarah McCusker, wife of Shane, of Guthriesville, and Trudy Diaz-Barnes, wife of David, of Thorndale; stepdaughter, Wendy J. Walters of Spring, TX; his grandson, David C. Moore, and his first wife, Ruth Ann Reynolds.

He was preceded in death by his son Charles Robert Pluck and siblings, Elmer Pluck Jr., Mary Barbin and Frances Geary.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Fairview Cemetery in Coatesville. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, which will be held at the Funeral Home on both Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. and again on Monday morning from 9:30 until 11 AM. A Masonic Service will be held on Sunday evening at 8 PM.
