Charles Hendren Wein, 78, of Cochranville, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2023. He was the husband of Deborah Anne Ball Wein for over 46 years. Born in Roxborough, Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Henry Nicholas Wein and Helen Elizabeth (Hendren) Wein.

He is survived by his wife and children, Matthew Wein and wife Ashley, Sandra Olcott and husband Lee, and Andrew Wein. Also his granddaughters, Jaqueline, Mikaela, Auretta, Anna, and Eowyn. He is also survived by his older brother Henry Nicholas Wein II and wife Joan, with their children and grandchildren and his cousin Elaine (Wein) Hanrahan.

Chuck attended Church Farm School in Exton, PA as a boy after his father passed away.  He graduated from Roxborough High School and shortly after began a career with Gulf Oil Company as a draftsman. He was in the Airforce Reserves at Willow Grove, PA.  He moved to New England (New Hampshire and Connecticut) and got his Masters Degree in Environmental Science from the University of New Haven.  He rose through the ranks to remediation management and retired from BP Oil Company in 2007.

Chuck was an avid sailor and the family spent many hours together on Long Island Sound when the kids were young. He loved classical music of all kinds and almost always had music playing in the background of everyday life.  He especially loved singing in choirs and making beautiful music with great directors and performers. Chuck played chess with any willing partner and took great delight in sharing the game with younger generations.
