Charles E. Jackson, 84, of Highland Township, Chester County, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the Christiana Hospital of Newark, Delaware. He was the husband of the late Janet Starkey Jackson who died in 2019. They shared 49 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late John A. Jackson and Pearl E. Keen Jackson.
Charlie was an area resident all his life and a 1957 graduate of the Octorara High School which was the first graduating class at Octorara.
He worked on the family farm until his father’s retirement in 1968. He was employed most of his life as a carpenter in the construction business. He loved building things, including his own home, a few small boats, furniture pieces and helping family and friends with their own projects.
He is survived by two sons; Andrew S. Jackson of West Grove, PA and Jeffrey C. Jackson and companion, Ana Santiago of Wilmington, Delaware, one grandson, Brayden J. Jackson, and two nieces Susan Smith of Cochranville and Elaine Russell of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by one sister Dorothy E. Jackson.
