Charles Albert Benekam

July 24, 1929 — March 3, 2017

Charles Albert Benekam, 87, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away on Friday, March 3rd, surrounded by his loving family at his niece's home in Lancaster.  He was the widower of the late LaRue Nash Benekam, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage.

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Emma (Scott) and William Benekam.  He was a graduate of Coatesville High School.  He served honorably in the US Air Force as Staff  Sergeant during the Korean War.

He worked as a Diesel Mechanic at Wood Trucking in Wauseon, Ohio.

He is survived by his siblings, William Benekam of Atglen, Pa. and Lena Hershey of Coatesville, Pa; and by his nieces and nephew.

The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 8th at 11 AM at Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1121 Octorara Trail, Parkesburg, PA 19365 , with a viewing from 10 AM until 11 AM.  Interment will take place at a later date in Greenlawn Cemetery in Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Charles' memory to Lancaster County Hospice, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg.
