Casimer S. "Casey" Debiak, 93, of Parkesburg, formerly of Chadds Ford, died on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the Coatesville VA Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Anne Marie McClay Debiak with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. Born in Clifton, NJ he was the son of the late Kazimerz and Eva Krawiec Debiak.
Casey served in the US Army during WWII in the European Theatre with the 42nd Infantry Division and was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor and achieved the rank of S/Sgt. He was employed, for 32 years, by Reynolds Spring Co. of Pomeroy and later of Chester. He was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Church in Parkesburg and the Robert Montgomery VFW Post #4480 of Parkesburg. He was an avid handyman and gardener and he enjoyed trips to the racetrack. Casey was a gentle man with a subtle sense of humor and a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived, in addition to wife, by two daughters; Patty, wife of Albert Sardella of East Fallowfield and Lynne Debiak of Embreeville and one grandson Albert C. Sardella and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three siblings Katherine Debiak, Agnes Yaddish and Stanley Debiak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 11:00 am from Our Lady of Consolation Church, 603 West 2nd Ave., Parkesburg, PA 19365 followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Visitation at the church was from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Our Lady of Consolation Church at the above address.
