Carrie Mae Crothers-Wilmott

Carrie Mae Crothers-Wilmott, 79, went home to her Lord and Savior on Wednesday May 11,
2022. Carrie passed at her home in Compass, West Caln where she shared 45 years of marriage with her husband John W. Wilmott Sr.

Born in Pomeroy, Pennsylvania on September 14, 1942, Carrie was the daughter of Trula Mae Willis-Crothers-Racz and Alton Little Crothers. After spending her childhood in Pomeroy, Carrie briefly resided in Milford, Delaware and Thorndale, Pennsylvania before settling into her home in Compass. Here, she raised her children, John and Tina, as well as a couple of steer, a few goats, and some cats and dogs.

She loved spending time in her garden, perfecting her flowerbeds, and cruising the afternoons away atop her riding mower. Regarded more as family than neighbors, Bill and Karen Mullen, as well as Charles and Bev Broadbelt provided unwavering support for Carrie and made her day-to-day life that much brighter.

Carrie was a member of Coatesville Area High School’s Class of ‘61 and spent her teenage years slinging newspapers and working at the Downingtown Farmers Market. When the time for marriage and children came, however, she settled into her role as supermom and the world’s greatest wife.

Carrie is survived by daughter Tina Wilmott-Axe and husband Richard of Westwood,
Pennsylvania; brother Granville Crothers and wife Charlotte of Coatesville, Pennsylvania; sister Mary Bruno of Coatesville, Pennsylvania; 6 grandchildren Greg, Kevin, Robert, Richard, Nicole, and John William; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins - one of the closest being Debbie Crothers of Modena, Pennsylvania; as well as one very special cat by the name of Mulder.

Carrie is predeceased by husband John William Wilmott Sr., son John William Wilmott Jr.,
brothers Charles, James, Robert, Donald, William, and Thomas Crothers and two sisters; Julia Ann Crothers-Kulinich-Dickinson; and Frances Crothers-O'Donnell-Coover.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
