Carol Smale

Carol Smale, 73, of Mt. Joy, PA passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the Lancaster County Hospice Center in Mt. Joy. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Isabelle Smith Smale.
A former resident of Parkesburg, Carol was employed as a nuclear medicine technologist and had retired from the VA Medical Center in Mountain Home, TN. She was a former member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Parkesburg and more recently attended St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Mt. Joy.
Throughout her life, Carol opened her home and heart to many rescued dogs in need of care.
She is survived by several first cousins and many other extended family members and friends including Brooke and Samantha Aulthouse whom she treated as her grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 11am from the Lancaster Church of the Nazarene, 2150 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601 with visitation from 10 to 11am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Operation Scarlet, Inc. P.O. Box 8463, Lancaster, PA 17604-8463 a local organization dedicated to rescuing Shar-Pei dogs.
