Carol Messner

October 14, 1948 — April 6, 2024

Carol E. Messner, 75, of Honey Brook, PA, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024, in Narvon, PA.  Born in Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward G. and Olive B. (Thompson) Bell.

Carol was an area resident all her life and was a graduate of the Coatesville School District. She retired from Pepperidge Farm in Denver, PA, where she worked in the bakery.

She enjoyed spending time with her dog Layla, spending time at the bay at Crafthaven in Perryville, MD, fishing, crocheting doilies, blankets, and stockings, and watching her beloved Phillies.

She is survived by her children, Pam (Troy) McElroy of Shade Gap, PA, Ginger (Jeff) Jelinek of Cochranville, PA, Barry (Colleen) Messner Jr. of Honey Brook, Kerri Messner (Craig) of Honey Brook, and Megan (Dwane) Layton of Honey Brook, nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and siblings, Jane Gipe of Duncannon, PA, Edward (Linda) Bell Jr. of Coatesville, Shirley (Richard) Kinsey of Honey Brook, and Robert (Linda) Bell of Highspire, PA.  She was preceded in death by siblings, Evelyn Zeigler, Marlene Mackavage, Diane Morano and Harold Bell, and a grandson, Collin McElroy.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 18th, from 1pm to 4pm at Faith Alliance Church located 570 Fairview Road in Glenmoore, PA 19343. Guests are encouraged to wear Philadelphia Phillies attire for Carol was a BIG Phillies fan.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association.
