Bruce R. Ammon, Sr., 64, of Gap, died peacefully at his home with his wife by his side on Thursday, November 17, 2011 after a six month battle with cancer. He was the husband of Debbie Mowrey Ammon with whom he shared 43 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of Elaine Stanley Ammon of Lititz and the late Orville Ammon.
An Octorara and Penn State Graduate, Bruce was employed as an Electrical Engineer for PP&L for the past 44 years. He was a member of the Manor Presbyterian Church and enjoyed hunting, the outdoors and time with his family.
He is survived, in addition to his wife, by two children; Wendy, wife of Tim Dougherty of Christiana and Bruce Ammon, Jr. and wife Deanna DiLabbio of Gap and two siblings, Clay Ammon of Huntington and June Henry of Paradise.
The memorial service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 11 AM at the Manor Presbyterian Church, 505 Street Road, Cochranville, PA 19330 with a visitation from 9:30 until 11.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Neighborhood Hospice, 400 E. Marshall St., West Chester, PA 19380.
