Brenda Gayle Legg, 82, of Highland Township, PA, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, in Reading Hospital, the wife of Roger E. Legg for over 51 years. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Joseph A. and Eileen Lyons Lepree.
A graduate of Caldwell University, she taught English in NJ for ten years at Summit Junior High School. Upon her marriage, she moved to Highland Township where she managed the Highland Eyrie Horse Farm for the next, and last, 51 years of her life.
A wise and avid horsewoman, Gayle was a frequent horse show judge in her earlier years, the secretary of the Devon Arabian Horseshow for well over a decade, the breeder and owner of numerous race horses, dogs (particularly; Irish Setters), and cats, and just for good measure a proofreader of the Practical Horse Magazine.
She regularly attended St. Malachi Catholic Church in Cochranville and for years volunteered at the Octorara Food Cupboard in Parkesburg. Most importantly, she was a very kind, quiet person of immense good judgement.
She is survived by her husband, Roger, of Highland Townshp, and a brother, Brian Lepree, of Tiger, GA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Malachi Church, 76 St. Malachi Rd., Cochranville, PA, on Wednesday, August 11th at 11 AM, with a visitation at the Church from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
