Bobby Joe Vanhorn

Bobby Joe VanHorn, 71, of Atglen, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2008 at the Coatesville VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Judith Ann Allabaugh VanHorn.

Born in Ashland, KY, he was the son of the late Malt and Pearl Bradley VanHorn.

Mr. VanHorn proudly served in the US Air Force from 1955 to 1963. An area resident for 23 years, he was employed by Cutler Dairy of Philadelphia retiring in 2002. He was a member of Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Parkesburg, the Teamsters Union and the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by one son; Steve VanHorn of Cheasapeake, Ohio and seven daughters; Michele, wife of Rodney Lancaster of Oakland, Miss., Mystre, wife of Jeffery Butler of Bolivia, NC, Melissa, wife of Lenzy Martin, III of Ashland, KY, Melanie, wife of Glen Grubb of Greenup, KY, Annetta, wife of Mike Smale of Port Charlotte, FL, Rachael, wife of Brian Siket of Christiana, PA, Leah, wife of James Arnsberger, Jr. of Parkesburg, 17 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one sister Barbara Ratliff of Ashland, KY. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter Mystre Kelley Daniele Talmage.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 11:00 am from the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 406 Second Ave., Parkesburg, PA 19365 with visitation from 10am to the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the LanChester Relay for Life, c/o Gail Murphy, 740 Valley Ave. Atglen, PA 19310.
