Betty S. Morton, 77, of Hampton, Va., formerly of Parkesburg and Oxford, passed to her eternal rest on Wednesday, March 31, 2010. She was the eldest child of the late Poulson Bolden and the late Alice Flamer Wilson.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse B. Morton, Sr.; her beloved brother Edward Bolden and her children William Jackson, Carole Farmer and Kenneth Jackson.
Betty leaves behind to mourn her loss, but celebrate her life the following: stepfather Clifford Wilson; her sisters Jay Nutter and Ocea Thomas; sister-in-law Grace Thompson and brother-in-law Alexander Wright.
Her legacy continues with her remaining children: Donna Tyre-Draper (David), Poulson Jackson, Mildred Jackson, Jessie Mae LaMotte, Jesse Morton, Jr. and Valerie White, in addition to her 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She also leaves a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends to celebrate her life.
The Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday, April 9, 2010 at the Bethany AME Church, Green St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the New Evergreen Cemetery of Coatesville. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, which will be held at the Church from 9 a.m. until 11 AM.
The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg.
