Betty J. O'Hop

Betty J. O'Hop, 85, of Parkesburg, passed away on Friday, December 12th at the Lancaster General Hospital.  She was married to the late William H. O'Hop on August 1, 1947.  William passed away in 2005 after they had shared 57 years of marriage.

Born in Wyoming, Pa., Betty was the daughter of the late Mildred (Shiner) and Walter Hines.

Betty was an active member of the Our Lady of Consolation Church, where she helped with church functions, including luncheons.

Betty worked at Octorara High School's cafeteria.

She is survived by her five children: Jeanie Gaido Barnett of Cochranville, Mariann Harbach, wife of Paul, of Gap, William H. O'Hop, husband of Connie, of Dillsburg, Pa., Robert A. O'Hop of Parkesburg and Bethann Linnenbaugh, wife of Robert, of Christiana; 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild; and siblings, Audrey Hines of West Pittston, Pa., Elaine Webb of Las Vegas, NV and Ruth Passarelli of Pittston, PA.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 16 at 11 AM at the Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, 603 West 2nd Avenue, Parkesburg, PA 19365, followed by interment at the Parkesburg Catholic Cemetery.  The viewing will be at the Church from 10 until 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
