Betty Isabelle Nikodemski

Betty Isabelle (nee Epler) Nikodemski, 103, of Honey Brook, formerly of Coatesville, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025.  She was the wife of the late Edward Joseph Nikodemski who passed away in 1991.  She was born on January 22, 1922, in Omaha, NE, and was the daughter of the late Frank I. Epler and Frances (May) Epler Major.

Betty lived most of her younger life in Tamaqua and Reading, before moving to Downingtown then Coatesville with her husband.  Recently she was a resident at Tel Hai Nursing Home for the past several years.  She was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church which had merged with the current St. Joseph Catholic Church in Coatesville.

She was a loving mother to her children, Carol Rhoades, Nancy (Thomas) Greenfield, Joann Gathercole, Edward Joseph Nikodemski Jr., and Janice Duca, beloved grandmother to Paul Rhoades III, Suzanne (Steve) Neilson, Robert (Megan) Gathercole, Brian (Kimberly) Gathercole, Tammy Jo  (Robert III) Guiney, Nicholas (Triska) Duca Jr., Sarah Stubbs, Kaitlyn Duca, and Heather (Jonathan) Keen, and great-grandmother to Karlie (Brock) Kauffman, Nathan Gathercole, Brianna Gathercole, Kelsey Gathercole, Kylee Gathercole, Nicholas Michael Duca, October Stubbs, Ella Keen, Olivia Keen, and Omri Hamilton.

She was preceded in death by children, Vicki Lynn and Steven Charles, son-in-laws, Robert "Scats" Gathercole and Paul "Dusty" Rhoades Jr., siblings, Franklin, Myron, Francis, and Carl, and half-siblings, William Major, Robert Major and Jessie (nee Major) Terry.

The family wishes to express their appreciation for the care and compassion provided by the staff and nurses at Tel Hai Meadowridge Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be private with burial at St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg, PA. Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com
