Bernice L. Godfrey

Bernice L. Godfrey, 84, of South Coatesville, passed away at her home on Sunday, March 18, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was the widow of the late Chester Godfrey.Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Onetta Walker Taylor.

Bernice was a Coatesville resident all her life. She was a retiree of the Coatesville VA Medical Center after 45 years of excellence in the Canteen. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending special time with family and friends.

Bernice is survived by one daughter Denise P. Thompson of Coatesville, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three sisters; Joyce Hills (Joey) of Coatesville, Delores Williams (James) of Thorndale, Brenda Hicks (Fredrick) of Coatesville and one brother Gilbert Hyden (Evonne) of Philadelphia. She was preceded in death by two brothers; Robert Taylor and Herman Taylor, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Mt. Zion AME Cemetery, Atglen, PA. Viewing from 9 to 11:00 AM.
