Bart Dwight Smith

Bart Dwight Smith, 66, of Downingtown, died peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the Lancaster County Hospice Center in Mount Joy. He celebrated 42 years of marriage with Mary Lou Smith, who preceded him in death on February 9th of this year. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late David and Joyce Smith.

Bart was employed for 30 years by the Public Liquor System and worked in many different stores throughout Chester County. His wit and sense of humor made everyone around him smile and feel at ease. He enjoyed classic and antique cars and worked on many in his younger years before his children filled his time.

He is survived by two children; Scott Paul Smith of New Holland, Heather, wife of Mark Magrecki of Mount Joy, three grandchildren; Mark Smithson of Pottstown, Zoe and Jacob Magrecki of Mount Joy and one brother David Smith of Ferndale, PA.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 3pm from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, PA with visitation from 2 to 3pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
