Barbara Harnish Christie

Barbara Harnish Christie, 83, of Parkersburg WV, formerly of Coatesville, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Samuel Owen Christie Sr. who died in 2001.

Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late George Maurice and Gladys Burke Detterline Harnish.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. She was a homemaker and enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, quilting, and cooking and she loved her dog Sue.

She is survived by a son Robert Christie of Parkersburg, W VA, granddaughters Jessica Christie of Denver, CO and Emily Christie of Shreveport, LA, two brothers William Harnish (Joan) and Robert Harnish (Beverly), a niece Kathryn Harnish (Rob Lawless) and a nephew William Harnish (Tara Murray).

She was preceded in death by her son Samuel Owen Christie Jr.

Funeral services will be 11am on Wednesday, March 27, at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 107 South 17th Avenue, Coatesville, PA followed by interment at the Upper Octorara Cemetery, Parkesburg, PA. Visitation at the Church, from 10:30 am until time of service.
