Avarella P. Shank

Avarella P. "Abbie" Shank, 86, of Westwood, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014 at the home of her daughter. She was the wife of the late Donald Shank who died in 1977. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Steidler Peaco.

An area resident all her life, she was a 1945 graduate of the Scott High School.

She was employed by the Coatesville Area School District as a secretary retiring in 1987.

She is survived by two children, Ann, wife of Gary Gatano of Coatesville, Donald Shank and wife Linda of Coatesville, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one brother Robert Peaco of Coatesville.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 11am at the Hopewell Methodist Cemetery, 852 Hopewell Rd, Downingtown, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the charity of your choice.
