Anthony W. Gay

Anthony W. Gay, 91, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Nottingham and Coatesville, died on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the widower of the late Mary Etta Knorr Gay who died in 2007. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary Way Gay.

Tony served in the US Army during WWII in the European Theater. He operated a grocery store in Ercildoun for many years. He was a member of the Wrightsdale Baptist Church and the Brandywine-Goddard Lodge #383 F & AM Masonic Lodge of Coatesville.

He is survived by three children; Arlene "Pat" , wife of Joseph Rubincan of Nottingham, Margaret "Peg"  wife of Bob Baxter of Coatesville and Garry W. Gay and his wife Judy of Pinch, West Virginia, nine grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and one brother Egbert Gay of Coatesville. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Jim and one grandson Joey Rubincan.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 11:00 am from the Wrightsdale Baptist Church, 310 Little Britain Rd., Peach Bottom, PA 17563 with visitation from 10:00AM until the time of the service. Interment will be on Thursday, January 21 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Please omit flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the church building fund at the above address.
