Anthony "Tony" John Russell Short

Anthony "Tony" John Russell Short, 84, of Christiana, PA, passed away at his home on Monday, December 19, 2022.  He is survived by his beloved wife Pamela Wiedemann whom he shared a beautiful journey for over 36 years.  Born in London, England, he was the son of the late Alfred and Marjorie Short.

Tony earned his master's degree from the London College of Technology and was employed as a mechanical engineer for West Code Manufacturing making equipment for public transportation vehicles.  He moved to the United States in his 20’s and was proud to become an American citizen in 1978.  He possessed a quick wit, a gentle strength, and a generous heart.

Tony was an avid skier. He and his wife, Pam, met at Spring Mountain and Blue Mountain working on the ski patrol.  He also enjoyed soccer and was a fan of the Arsenal Club of the Premier League.  He was able to enjoy the World Cup finals before he passed and has instilled a love for the sport in both his son and grandchildren.  He loved dogs and helping his wife care for horses, building jumps for equestrian events.   His love of art and nature and all creatures great and small is something he passed on to his children at an early age and shared with many over the years.  One of his most favorite adventures was a trip to the Grand Canyon where he camped in the canyon and went white water rafting with his Pamela.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Sarah (James) Flanagan of Roswell GA,  his son Jason (Amy) Short of Limerick, PA, and grandchildren, Ryann and Mason Short.  He was preceded in death by a sister Francis Goodwin.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held in the spring once the daffodils are in bloom for his family and friends.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html
