Anthony Nicholas "Nick" Sloan

June 5, 1985 — February 12, 2017

Anthony Nicholas “Nick” Sloan, born June 22, 1985 to Anita Cornett and Robert J. Sloan, Jr. in West Chester, PA. God called Nick and his K-9 companion Chance home together Sunday, February 12, 2017 to fulfill their final chapter in Heaven with his Lord our Savior.

Nick was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Ronald Hilton, his paternal grandfather Robert J. Sloan Sr., and his uncle Dwight “Van” Cornett.

In addition to his parents, Nick leaves behind his beloved daughter Marlie Rae Sloan, loving brother Mark Mellinger Jr., Grandmother Mary Hilton, nephew Jameson Mellinger, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Nick served our country for 6 years in the Army National Guard, attended Wilmington University, and worked for GetWellNetwork. Most recently Nick started his own business serving the real estate industry as a contractor.

Nick was very active in the community and loved sports, he was an avid member of CrossFit Thunder Hill. He especially loved coaching his daughter’s softball team and was her biggest cheerleader!

Nick will continue to live through the many fond memories we have and the many lives he blessed through organ donation.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 22 at 11 AM at Wilde Funeral Home in Parkesburg, PA officiated by Pastor Gary Ratliff.  The viewing will be from 9 until 11 AM. Burial to follow immediately after at Union Hill Cemetery in Kennett Square.
