Althea W. Taggart, 93, of Tel Hai Retirement Community of Honey Brook, formerly of Wagontown, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2010. She was the widow of the late Raymond Taggart, who died in 1990.
Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Laura Mathewson Wright and John Wright. She attended the Wagontown Union Chapel. She was a charter member and Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of Wagontown Fire Co.
She was an avid Phillies fan and a huge supporter of Chase Utley. We will cherish her recipes, especially her corn pudding. When she moved to Tel Hai Asst. Living she made many friends and resumed Pinocle and bingo playing, doing her crossword puzzles and reading mysteries. Althea especially loved her family.
She is survived by two children: John Taggart, husband of Doris, of West Chester and William Taggart, husband of Barbara, of Atglen; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Miller and brother, John Wright.
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Wagontown Union Chapel, 469 West Kings Highway (Rt. 340), Coatesville, Pa., followed by interment in the Upper Octorara Cemetery of Parkesburg. The evening viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg and again at the Wagontown Chapel on Thursday morning from 10 until 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tel Hai Retirement Community (Memo: "Activity Dept."), PO Box 190, Honey Brook, PA 19344.
