Aileen E. Akers Roop

Aileen E. Akers Roop, 80, of Towerville, East Fallowfield, passed away at the Brandywine Hospital on Sunday, November 22, 2009.

She was the beloved wife of Everett Roop with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Pulaski, VA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Nanny Dalton Akers.

Aileen was an area resident most of her life. She was employed, for 35 years, at the South Brandywine Middle School in the cafeteria department. She was a faithful member of the Towerville Christian Church.

She is survived, in addition to her husband, by three sons; Mark Roop and wife Joanne of Coatesville, David Roop of Reading, Timothy Roop and wife Kathy of Delaware, five grandchildren,  three sisters; Doris Jones, Louise Chinault and Ann Williams all of Virginia and one brother Allen Akers of South Carolina. She was preceded in death by two brothers; Donald and Duane and one daughter -in-law Ginny, wife of David.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 27, 2009 at 11:00am from the Towerville Christian Church, 10 Hannum Drive, East Fallowfield, PA 19320 followed by interment at the Friendship Methodist Cemetery in Gum Tree. Viewing and visitation at the church from 10am to the time of the service.
