Joyce K. Slay

Joyce K. Slay, 76, of Parkesburg, passed away on Tuesday, August, 28, 2018 at Twin Pines Health Care Facility. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Oatha Slay with whom she shared over 18 years of marriage.

Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Elmira (Ferguson) and Cordell Jason. Following High School, Joyce went on to attend a two year nursing program, but later took on a role as a homemaker caring for her family. She cherished time spent with both her children and grandchildren. Her personality was infectious and she was loved by everyone who had the opportunity to meet her, she never had a bad word to speak about anyone. She was an active witness at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Parkesburg.

She is survived by four children: Robert Jason Slay, husband of Lisa, of Lancaster, Candace D. Wood, wife of Nathan, of Downingtown, Paul Michael Slay, of Tucson Arizona, and David Slay of Oxford; two siblings Linda Diaz and Lois Lambert; Best friend Brenda Powell; and 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two siblings: Ron Jason and Richie Jason.

The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 15th at 1 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 67 Octorara Rd, Parkesburg, PA 19365.
