Alfred L. Towles, 81, of Coatesville, passed away at the V.A. Hospice Center of Coatesville.
Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Philip Towles and Carrie Brown Towles.
He was retired from the US Army, where he served seven tours in Vietnam. After serving in the Army, he worked for Lukens Steel.
He is survived by his children: Monique Goines of Parkesburg, Jeffrey Towles, husband of Laura, of Coatesville, Gandhi Towles of Coatesville; and stepson, Eric Towles of Philadelphia; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Sam Towles, Joseph Towles, Florence Sweeny and Emma Williams; Uncle Booker and Aunt Sarah Towles of Honey Brook; a host nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Linda Hammond of Christiana, PA.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 11 AM at the Veterans Admin. Medical Center's Chapel, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Rd, Building #72, Coatesville, PA 19320. Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing, which will be held from 10 until 11 AM. Interment will be held at the Indiantown Gap National VA Cemetery of Annville.
