Lynn J. Hanaway, 81, of Parkesburg, PA, passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.  He was the husband of Connie (Dampman) Hanaway of 61 years.  Born in Coatesville, PA, he was the son of the late John M. and Margaret (Miller) Hanaway.  He was the brother to Leanne Hanaway Sweet (Michael).

Lynn was an area resident all his life.  He graduated from Coatesville High School.  Throughout his life, he enjoyed starting and running several different businesses, including trucking, paving, real estate and most recently Brandywine Quarry of which he owned and operated for 27 years.  He was knowledgeable in machinery and engines.   He also loved spending time with his family and particularly enjoyed teasing his grandchildren.  He was a member of the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church in Parkesburg.

Besides his wife and sister, Lynn is survived by his children, John (Char) Hanaway, Stephen (Lori) Hanaway, David (Nancy) Hanaway, and Jennifer Taggart (Greg Buchman), 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.  

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024, at the Upper Octorara Church, 1121 Octorara Trail, Parkesburg, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m.  Interment in the adjoining church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his memory to Alzheimer's Association. To make a donation please click HERE.
