Yancel Clyde Campbell, 85, of Kennett Square, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023. He was formerly married to the late Dorothy Rhoads Campbell. Born in Bristol, TN, he was the son of the late Ira and Laura Hicks Campbell. Yancel resided with his partner, Judy Fetters.
Yancel was a Chester County resident most of his life. He was self-employed as a general contractor for over sixty years as well as a master stonemason. Yancel enjoyed gardening, flowers, and loved animals. He was an avid Phillies fan. Most of all, Yancel adored his grandchildren, both blood related and “adopted.” He took them to sports practices, attended graduations and ceremonies, and traveled across the country to welcome their spouses into the family. Yancel’s grandkids loved his extra big hugs, his tough love, and consistent humor.
He is survived by five children; Yancel C. Campbell, Jr. and wife Masako of Okinawa, Japan, Anthony Campbell and wife Jane of San Diego, CA, Brian K. Campbell and wife Linda of Cochranville, PA Craig Campbell and wife Michelle of West Grove, PA and Kim Ellsworth and husband Doug of New Holland, PA, 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and two sisters; Nellie Emerson of West Grove and Barbara Paisley of Mountain City, TN. He was preceded in death by three brothers; Ernest, Lossie and Harold and three sisters Ruth, Joyce and Polly.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Parkesburg Mennonite Church, 44 E 2nd Ave, Parkesburg, PA 19365 with visitation at the church from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM. Please join us for lunch in the fellowship hall of the church after the service.

To Yancel Jr. and family, so sorry for the loss of your Father, I just loss my Mother in Feb. you may not know me, but we went to school together at East Fallowfield Elem. School. We had Mr. Hershey.
